Greens target foreign land buyers bottling NZ water in review of Overseas Investment Act

I definitely agree that foreign land owners should not be allowed to
sell New Zealand bottled water overseas. Why? Because foreign
land buyers are extracting New Zealand's natural resources(water)
for the benefit of earning money. It doesn’t do any good for New
Zealand citizens except wasting it on other countries. So I simply
agree with the green party, they’ve made many reasonable reasons
for why foreign land buyers should not sell bottled water overseas.
Including Marama davidson who quoted "We need to ensure that we
are not giving away this resource to international corporations to reap
profits from at the expense of New Zealand's best interests," as well as
"Water should not be for sale to the highest bidder. Changing the law
is a key step towards protecting it for the generations ahead," Greens
co leader Marama davidson said.

Cybersmart Assessment

Cybersmart

1. What it means to be cybersmart and why is it important

Cybersmart means being safe online. It’s very crucial to be
cybersmart because you could come across some cyberbully,
virus or hacker that could affect you in some way.

2.Two things you learnt about being cybersmart and how you
could apply it to your own life

Two things I have learnt about being cyber smart is double
checking what I write before pressing the send button and
how being cybersmart could affect my future. For example,
if I choose to do the wrong thing it could affect me from having
a job. Since all they know of me was all the bad things I did online.
Applying this to my life would mean not to comment or post bad
things about someone.

A personal strategy a young person can do to help themselves if
they are being cyberbullied
    - Talk to a friend
    - Ignore the bully
    - Talk to your parents or a Social worker

A interpersonal strategy a young person can do to help their friend
who is being cyberbullied.
    - Talk to them
    - Ask them to see a social worker
 - Support them if there having trouble

A personal strategy a young person who finds themselves bullying
other young people can do to help build their self-esteem and change
their behaviour
 - Make them realize that what there doing is bad
 - Help them change some habits that make them this way
- Tell them to see a social worker about all the problems that make
them a bully

Perspective on banning plastic bags

Today in Social studies, I read an article about Simon bridges
thinking the banning of plastic bags is a big distraction and
won't make any difference.

I definitely agree that it is a big distraction plus a waste of time.
Supermarkets are already making a difference by putting a price
to buying plastic bags and by banning it won't make that much
of a difference. It also makes more issues for the prime minister
while she already has enough on her shoulders.

It will have an impact for New Zealanders because they'd have
to buy Recycles bags for when they go shopping and this is a
big impact because plastic bags are what most stores use in New
Zealand on an everyday basis.  This applies to Jacinda because
every problem with the banning of plastic bags, she would have
to deal with it. Even when she has a baby who is only a couple
months old.

Survivor BLOG Reflections

Survivor BLOG Reflections

What problems did you face?
  • Wondering how we would survive
  • Making peace with new survivors on the island
  • Thinking about all the solutions for our problems and seeing which one was best
  • How we were going to respond to the pirates
How did you solve problems?
  • Debating on what we thought was best to survive
Who made the decisions?
  • Everyone in the group
Was their one person who made most of the decisions? If so why?
  • Yes, because with one person in charge of the decisions then it wouldn't be much harder for the group. Since everyone might disagree with one another.
How did you decide on who would be the leader?
  • We thought about who can care for our well-beings, is kind and thoughtful to others and who knows best about surviving on the island.
Why did we complete this task?
  • To discuss with one another about all the decisions and it gives an example about our next subject, which is to do with the government. For example, being on an island means caring for one another, communicating, finding ways to survive and making sure everyone is fed. While being a government also means caring for your people and seeing which decisions are best for the country. As you can see, they both have some kind of connection with each other.

Migration Model

In this migration model, explains why people migrate.
People migrate for either push and pull reasons. Push
reasons are reasons that are pushing them out of their
country to migrate somewhere else. Pull reasons are
reasons that lure the person into that country for better.
In this migration model I have done, shows how much
migrants who travel from Tokelau to New Zealand. As
you can see, the arrow on top is more thicker than the
arrow down bottom. This is because people migrate to
New Zealand more times than people migrate to Tokelau.
This is a pull reason because people migrate to New
Zealand from Tokelau because its for better education
and for a better life. A push reason in this scenario would
be leaving your family behind . This is why push reasons
have a negative impact while pull reasons have a positive
one.

Chocolate muffins - Cooking class

Today in Cooking class, my partner Ana and I made chocolate muffins. I did the cooking and she did the cleaning. The ingredients we needed were 1 1/2 of self rising flour, 1/2 cup of milk, 1/2 cup of oil , 1 egg, 1/4 cup of cocoa, chocolate chips and 1 teaspoon of vanilla essence. I added all these ingredients in one bowl and mixed it altogether. I then put it inside the muffin trays and placed it in the oven. It was set to 180 degrees and left in there for 15 minutes. When it was done we added some chocolate sauce as toppings. In the end, it was very very sweet because there was so much chocolate sauce on it. But as you can see there's no picture to show what we did, but I bet if we did then it would make your mouth watery. :)

Cooking Class - Omelette

Today in Cooking class me and my partner made omelettes. The ingredients we used were eggs, cheese, bacon, purple onion and capsicum. First we mixed the eggs then diced the bacon, onion and capsicum into small tiny pieces. We then put oil into our pans and waited for it be hot. We placed the egg into the pan and put the diced pieces onto one side of the egg. Then we flipped the other side of the egg onto the diced pieces and waited for it to be done. In the end we had a bit of sides with it including lettuce, bbq sauce and mayo.
