Today I have done an activity on weight. As you can see my estimations were quite far and close to each other, by looking at the numbers . My estimation did match 2 actual measurements and I was hoping for most guesses to be correct. But anyways it’s only estimating , that means I couldn’t of known what the actual measurement.is .

Title : The significance of Tattoos in my culture

Tattoo’s is a tremendous type of art. It goes from fancy to representing your own culture. It is significant in a way when it is used for a main purpose like for their children or for someone who has passed away . Every culture has a purpose for tattoos and for the Cook Island tribe , it is used for many meanings.

First of all , Cook Island tribes use a type of pattern as in animals , creatures and insects. These tattoos are used to recognized the creature or animal , which means it is treated with respect . So it is just like a totem , which is an object or animal that is significance in any way .

Secondly , a centipede tattoo is as well as critical as animal tattoos. A centipede is a tattoo that is represented on a person’s back who is known as a chief in the Cook Island tribe. It is well known to be common throughout all different tribes in the culture of Cook Island and stands strong when represented .

Thirdly , the turtle tattoo. The tattoo of a turtle is mostly on every single tattoo you see on a cook island pattern . It is known for covering ⅓ of the ocean’s planet and the pacific ocean is the turtles realm. It has been upon most lands and it’s why it has been inherited to the cook island culture.  It is used amongst the cook island to show strength , stability , stamina and immortality.

In conclusion , Tattoos in relation to Cook Island is very important to them and their tribe. It is essential to them in many ways that we might not understand , it comes with different reasons and by my point of view , it stands to be very strong.

In the past few weeks of sewing class at Tamaki College , I have been trying to make a cushion along with my other classmates. As you can see , I have placed up photos from the main steps needed to complete this cushion. My measurement was 14x12 and as you can see , my second photo is a chopped up fabric to get the final size, then my last step was just sewing it together . Along with filling it with fluff to make it puffy ,as I said on my other post. Now that I have finished my cushion , I am happy with what I have done and I am willing to make another new item.

Today , I have done a Math activity on Probability. As you can see I got 2 questions wrong and the rest correct. It was pretty easy ,because I have been studying on probability for a short time with my class and I think that I have experienced enough to understand Probability. Although ,I will still test myself with Probability skills so I can get more better and better at it.

Kuraia 10.05.2017

Today I have done a Reading comprehension on Narwhals. From this text I learnt marine stuff like how Narwhals are the only creatures that can swim 2,500 depths down into the sea ,using their sonar to sense their way through the murky waters. I also discovered how long a Narwhal can grow up to, as well as their tusks ,which they also use to protect themselves if needed. Anyways ,as you can see I got 76% and I think I did pretty well ,so for next time I will set my goal to 100% .
